Metro is an independent concert hall in Wrigleyville that has anchored Chicago’s rock scene since 1982, with a capacity of roughly 1,100. Early-career shows by Smashing Pumpkins, R.E.M., and Nirvana built its reputation as the city’s proving ground for rising acts. Dance club smartbar operates downstairs in the same building.
