The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, long known as Chene Park, is an outdoor amphitheater on the Detroit River east of downtown. Opened in 1985 and renamed in 2019 to honor the Detroit soul legend, the city-owned venue holds roughly 6,000 people and is known for its summer R&B, soul, and jazz programming with skyline and river views.
